The effect of interfacial engineering on the deactivation resistance of nickel-based catalysts for dry reforming of methane

Abstract Methane dry reforming reaction (DRM) can convert CO 2 and CH 4 , two kinds of greenhouse gases with very stable chemical properties, to produce syngas, which be used synthesize valuable industrial products. Nickel-based catalysts have been widely in DRM because their low cost good catalytic activity. However, nickel application is limited by such as high-temperature metal sintering, carbon deposition catalyst poisoning, restricts the reaction. Compared single nickel, selective doping multi metals supports shows higher activity anti poisoning tolerance due changing structural properties enhancing alloy effect force between support. This paper mainly reviews anti-coking, anti-sintering anti-sulfur tuning metal-metal interaction metal-support (MSI) DRM. The modification strategies interfacial engineering structure-performance relationship are discussed, existing difficulties future development Ni-based proposed.
